Citrus Harmony

Wilson & Finca La Aldea

Wilson Ordoñez is a third-generation coffee producer from Finca La Aldea in San Agustin, Huila, Colombia. Coffee runs deep in his family, and you can feel that care in every part of his work.

Wilson has earned well-deserved recognition for his coffees, including first place in Top Roast Colombia 2023 for best exotic coffees. One of the most exciting coffees on his farm is this rare Orange Bourbon, a beautiful variety known for its bright, sweet, and fruit-forward character.

When I visited Finca La Aldea in 2023, this coffee immediately stood out. Micro lot number six had these amazing orange-colored cherries, and the cup was just as memorable. The farm sits near the mountains, with fresh river water nearby and a cool breeze moving through the trees. It is the kind of place where you understand pretty quickly why the coffee tastes so special.

Citrus Harmony by Wilson Ordoñez

Citrus Harmony is bright, sweet, and full of personality. Wilson uses a careful fermentation process to bring out the best in this Orange Bourbon, but the real magic is how everything comes together in the cup.

Expect a juicy pop of tangerine, soft chamomile florals, tropical notes of lychee and pineapple, and a sweet strawberry finish. The texture is silky and tea-like, with a creamy sweetness that makes the whole coffee feel elegant but still super fun to drink.

This is one of those coffees that feels refreshing, expressive, and easy to love. A beautiful example of Wilson’s work and exactly the kind of coffee we get excited to share.

Roaster’s Take

For this release, we kept the roast in a light plus range, giving the coffee enough development to feel balanced while preserving the delicate florals and bright citrus that make this Orange Bourbon so special. We extended the Maillard phase to help open up the chamomile-like florals, soften the acidity, and bring forward the layered tangerine, tropical fruit, and creamy sweetness behind Wilson Ordoñez’s beautiful work.

The goal was not to overpower the fermentation or the variety, but to let the coffee speak clearly. Wilson created a masterpiece at the farm level, and our approach in the roastery was simply to honor that work with clarity, sweetness, and balance.
